Margaret HarveyWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest had four players score in double figures as the Demon Deacons defeated Mars Hill in a women's basketball exhibition game 109-65 at Joel Coliseum.

The Demon Deacons were led by Sandra Garcia's (Hollywood, Fla.) 22 points. Brittany Waters (Orlando, Fla.) scored 17 points. Camille Collier (Washington, D.C.) and Lakevia Boykin (Raleigh, N.C.) recorded 13 and 10 points, respectively.

For the second straight exhibition game, the Lions were paced by Brittini Young (Ramseur, N.C.) with 18 points who was 12-15 from the free throw line. Margaret Harvey (Greensboro, N.C.) pumped in 11 points and five rebounds. Katie Buckner (Canton, Ga.) scored 10 points off the bench for Mars Hill.

Wake Forest shot 54.5% from the field compared to only 31.5% for Mars Hill. Both teams struggled from behind the arc where the Demon Deacons hit only 28% (7-25) while the Lions made only 27.8% (5-18).

Mars Hill will open the season at Queens College on November 18. The game will tip at 5:30 p.m.
