BREVARD, N.C. - Laura Ann Huskey's double-double willed the Mars Hill volleyball team to a four game victory over Brevard as the Lions snapped a six-match conference losing streak. Mars Hill won by scores of 25-21, 25-22, 19-25 and 25-22.
The Lions improve to 9-8 overall and 2-6 in the South Atlantic Conference. The Tornados fall to 11-7 overall and 1-6 in the league.
Huskey, from West Henderson, N.C., recorded 12 kills and 20 digs. Jenna Luke (Mishawaka, Ind.) drilled 11 kills. Kelsi Flora (Mishawaka, Ind.) had 19 digs. Sarah Paquette (Swannanoa, N.C.) dished out 35 assists.
Brooke Seaman (Spring Hill, Fla.) led the way for Brevard offensively with nine kills. Chelsey Trojan (Sacramento, Calif.) had eight kills and 13 digs. Rebecca Schoonover (Palm City, Fla.) had 15 digs. Bethany Stevenson (Prattville, Ala.) and Lindsey Rogers (Hickory, N.C.) had 17 and 15 assists, respectively.
Mars Hill will travel to Tusculum on Tuesday night. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
