Kel CoxMARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' men's soccer team lost to Coker College Saturday afternoon, 2-0 in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. Mars Hill fell to 0-3-1 while the Cobras improved to 4-0 on the season.

Coker scored the first goal of the match with less than five minutes remaining in the first half (39:05) when Eric Stiefield gave the Cobras a 1-0 lead on a breakaway. The teams carried that score into the locker room at the intermission.

Tyler Senecal added an insurance goal at the 68:17 mark hitting the back of the net on an unassisted goal from 20 yards out. The Cobras held on down the stretch to leave MHC with the victory.

MHC out shot Coker, 9-8 and the Lions edged the Cobras in corner kicks, 5-4. Coker was called offsides twice. James Sweeney played the entire match in goal for Coker while Alex Huckabee (Kernersville, N.C.) played the first 74:17 in the net for MHC. He made three saves.
