 ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Mars Hill freshman Erika Pinate, of Caracas, Venezuela, has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 10. Pinate, who plays No. 1 singles and doubles, helped the Lions to wins in two of three matches during the week.
In a loss to Tusculum, Pinate earned a point with a singles win. She came back to win both of her singles and doubles matches in wins over Converse and Newberry. After winning her first two singles matches of the week in straight sets, Pinate battled back from a set down to win against Newberry.
The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is voted on by the league's Sports Information Directors.
