HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team defeated Mars Hill College Friday evening to improve to 14-7 on the year and 3-4 in the South Atlantic Conference. The loss dropped the Lions to 7-9 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Amanda Horenkamp (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) had nine kills for the Railsplitters while sophomore setter Lauren Kiwacka (Tipp City, Ohio) distributed a game-high 30 assists.
The Lions were led by Evie Tafunai (Edwardsburg, Mich.) who finished the evening with eight kills, while setter Jessica Britt (Chesapeake, Va.) handed out a team-high 20 assists.
Two Mars Hill College players found their way into double figures in the digs category. Kelly Koziel (New Carlisle, Ind.) carried the Lion defensive effort with 15 digs, while Lindsay Phillips (Rosman, N.C.) notched 12.
The Lions will travel to Jefferson City, Tennessee Tuesday night to take on the Lady Eagles of Carson-Newman College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
