MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill College Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams have reached the mid-way point in their outdoor season.  The following is a recap of their impressive start to the season:

-Trey McCain runs personal best time of 15:43.41 at the 49er Classic.

Milligan Relays: 

-Tandra Landers 5th place in the 200m in 27.18

-Ashley McCarthy and Ginny Smith tie for 1st place in High Jump with a height of 1.52m

-Erin Stowe 5th place in the Discus with a throw of 29.48m

-Frankie Waters 2nd in 100m dash (11.16) and 1st in 110m Hurdles in a meet record time of 14.95

-Justin Baker wins heat in 1500m with a time of 4:15.32

-Tyrea Allen 3rd in Long Jump (6.64m)

-Brad Nagel 3rd in Javelin (44.87m)

Liberty Collegiate Invitational: 

The multi-events highlighted the weekend of action.  On the ladies side, Ashley McCarthy completed the heptathlon with 3,218 points.  Her point total included 666 points from a high jump of 1.54m that earned her the top finish in the event.

On the men's side, Brad Nagel and Richard Clarke competed in the Decathlon. Nagel, a senior, captured the school record in his final decathlon of his career. Nagel totaled an impressive 5,825 points over the two days while Clarke posted 4,275 in his first decathlon competition.  Nagel earned 709 points in the 100m dash with his time of 11.71.  Clarke highlighted his competition with a second place finish in the discus throw.  Clarke earned 615 points with his throw of 37.53m

Other top performances from Liberty:

-Frankie Waters 5th place in 100m dash with time of 10.77

-Aaron Thomas 6th place in 800m run with a time of 1:57.83

-Justin Baker 3rd place in Steeplechase with a time of 9:54.11

University of Tennessee Sea Ray Relays: 

-Frankie Waters set a new school record with a time of 14.77

University of the Cumberlands Invite:

-Trey McCain 2nd place finish in 10,000m with personal best time of 33:23.77

-Frankie Waters 1st place in 110 Hurdles with a time of 15.29

-Tandra Landers 2nd place in 200m dash with a time of 27.61

-Angela Woodward 4th place in the 5000m run with a personal best time of 19:36.40

-Richard Clarke 7th place in the discus with a throw of 38.46m
