 ROCK HILL, S.C. – Mars Hill pitcher Tiffany Farthing (Kure Beach, N.C.) and first baseman Ashley Seawell (Asheboro, N.C.) have been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
Farthing pitched the Lions past Anderson on Wednesday, firing a two-hit complete game in a 2-1 win. The junior allowed just one walk while striking out nine in her only appearance of the week.
 Seawell went 4-for-6 at the plate during Mars Hill’s doubleheader sweep of the Trojans. The sophomore had the go-ahead hit in both wins, including the game-winning home run, a two-run blast, in the Lions’ game two win. She finished with three RBIs and two runs scored.
The SAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week are selected by a vote of the league’s nine sports information directors.
