 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The men's golf team finished in ninth place Tuesday after the final round of the Wingate Invitational at the Olde Sycamore Plantation Course. The team of five players scored a 316 on the second day of competition and totaled a two day score of 641.
Nate Lockey (Brantford, Ontario, Canada) fired a second round 72 to finish tied for fifth overall. His two day total was 151.
 Josh Spalding (Weaverville, N.C.) finished second on the team and 35th overall after the final round. He scored an 81 Tuesday to finish the event with a total of 161.
Pfeiffer University placed first among all participating schools. Its team of five players tallied a 600 (294-306). Andrew Shiflet of Pfeiffer finished first among all individuals with a total score of 143 (68-75).
Mars Hill will conclude its regular season April 14-15 at the Brevard Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Etowah Valley Golf Course in Etowah, N.C.
